AFCS RULES
RULES
1. A $125.00 membership fee for 410 sprint car drivers is required to be eligible for the 2026 AFCS Sprint Series point fund. A $100.00 membership fee for AFCS 305 sprint car drivers is required to be eligible for the 2026 AFCS 305 Sprint Series point fund. All drivers with paid memberships who compete in scheduled AFCS events will receive season championship points and are eligible for the year end point fund money. If a driver does not compete in 1 or more AFCS Series event(s) and still finishes in a points paying position, the pay will be prorated by the percentage of races the driver competed in during the season.. Example: if a driver is not present for 3 of the 17 AFCS Series events for the season, that driver would receive 83% of the payout since they only competed in 83% of the scheduled AFCS Series events. IF A DRIVER MISSES more than 50% of the AFCS Series events completed during the season, that driver will NOT receive any points fund money! You MUST compete in AT LEAST 50% of the AFCS Sprint Series events completed during the season or you will forfeit ALL points fund money!! NO memberships accepted once season starts!!
2. Drivers who are eligible to receive point fund money at the end of the season must have a W-9 IRS tax form filled out and submitted to AFCS Sprint Series in order to receive any cash/prizes at the banquet. AFCS will provide W-9 forms from the IRS. Driver will be responsible for claiming point fund money as income on their personal taxes as AFCS will file a 1099 with the IRS for each check written. If a Driver chooses to select another entity as the “payee” for their point fund check, that entity must fill out the W-9 form. Division of point fund money between Driver, Owner, or any other party will not be the responsibility of the AFCS Sprint Series. One check will be written in the amount designated for the Driver’s finishing position in season points. A W-9 filled out with Attica Raceway Park will cover the AFCS Sprint Series as well and be used in the same entity for AFCS.
3. Points will be awarded to the Driver ONLY! No Owner points will be kept. If a Driver changes rides or car numbers for any reason during the season, THE DRIVER maintains all points acquired up to that point. Driver and Owner shall have their own agreement of how AFCS point fund money structure and payment split. Point Fund money will be paid to the entity listed on the W-9 IRS tax form. See rule #2 above. W-9 form filled out at Attica Raceway Park WILL BE AFCS W-9 as well.
4. No “ride jumping” to another driver’s car or a team car will be allowed. No exceptions will be made. Track rules may allow the use of borrowing a car to finish an event, but AFCS will ONLY AWARD points to the driver up until the point that the switch is made in the course of an event. The only exceptions to this rule is, IF car is switched before the start of the 1st heat race of the night.or if the driver starts the B in another car. Basically no ride buying for A Main points if you miss the A.
4a. In the event of a rain postponement of an event to a later date, AFCS does not require that the race vehicle be the exact same chassis/body/engine/car number as used when the event was postponed. It is reasonable to expect that a different car may be used or that the driver may change teams before the event resumes on a later date.
5. If a driver transfers to the A-main as an alternate due to another car scratching from the event, that driver will not receive A-main points, unless the car scratching is obviously not returning, blown engine, damaged chassis, injured/sick driver. Basically, there is NO BUYING an A Main spot for points rule! Transferring to the A-main as an alternate may allow the driver to accumulate track points and purse money, but no AFCS points will be awarded to alternate starters in the A-main event if no obvious evidence for the scratch is present. IF buying an A MAIN spot via a scratch is found by AFCS officials, the AFCS driver will be penalized 100 points!
6. Complaints arising regarding the award of championship points or any other perceived rule discrepancy must be submitted to the AFCS series director within the same weekend of the infraction. The AFCS staff will review all complaints in a fair and objective manner. We reserve the right to investigate any and all complaints, as we deem necessary. The AFCS Series will make a decision and all parties involved will then be notified of the decision. All decisions will be considered final. Please use a respectful manner if you submit a complaint!
7. Member Drivers MUST display (2) AFCS Series decals – one on each outward facing sideboard of the top wing - during AFCS events in order to receive points, cash and prizes. Decals will be made available at each AFCS Series event via the series officials. If a driver needs more decals at any time, it is THEIR responsibility to get them from the AFCS Series Director. Drivers not displaying the AFCS Series decals by the time heat races are in the staging area MAY BE in danger of NOT receiving points for the event.
7b. 410 and 305 sprint car drivers who wish to be eligible for AFCS Series point fund money MUST display decals of the series required sponsors on the race vehicle during all AFCS events in order to receive point fund money. Support the sponsors who support this series. A list of sponsors will be distributed with the decals prior to the first scheduled AFCS event.
8. Contingency award program decals will be distributed to all teams for placement on the race vehicle. Required decals must be displayed in order to receive contingency award prizes from these companies. Please show your support for the companies who are supporting this series. If you do not wish to participate in the contingency awards program, please notify the AFCS staff at the time the decals are distributed and the prizes and certificates will not be distributed to you throughout the season or at the banquet.
9. Points will be tabulated based on the official posted race results provided by the track scorers unless a driver changes rides during the course of an event or enters the A-main as an alternate (see rules #4 and #5) Disputes with event finishing order should be addressed to the track officials. The AFCS staff will try to help assist our series drivers in getting answers if there is a scoring dispute.
10. Fifty (50) show up points will be awarded to all drivers who compete in any AFCS event once motors have been fired at the direction of track officials. No show up points will be awarded for rainouts or any other cancellation if motors have not been fired. Show up points (4 races maximum) will be awarded to any member in good standings in the event they have been injured at An AFCS Series EVENT or an AFCS Series Track providing they can obtain documents stating injuries that disqualify them from participation in series events from their medical provider.
11. There are NO double points awarded for any AFCS Series events during double point nights
12. AFCS Rookie of the Year award winner shall be determined by the highest finishing driver who accumulates the most AFCS points during their first true full year in a 410 or 305 sprint car competition.. Rookie eligibility will be determined by the rules of the two individual tracks. Rookie of the Year contestants must be paid AFCS members.
13. The Top-10 Drivers 410s, Top 12 drivers AFCS in points at the conclusion of the season are requested to attend the AFCS awards banquet, if a banquet is held, at the end of the season in order to receive cash awards and contingency prizes. Please make plans in advance to attend if you wish to receive your point fund check or make prior arrangements if you can’t attend on receiving points fund money.
Note: Special consideration will be given to those drivers providing notification to AFCS well in advance if there is a valid reason why they cannot attend the banquet. Drivers who do not attend the banquet and have not notified the AFCS series director prior to the banquet of any scheduling conflicts will be in danger of forfeiting their money and prizes to the following year’s AFCS point fund.
14. Situations may arise that are not precisely covered in these official rules. The AFCS Sprint Series will make all interpretations of the rules included herein and those judgments will be final.
15. Cheating! IF any AFCS Series team does not pass tech inspection per the rules of the race track, which the series follows, Team will can lose ALL points for the race the rules infraction took place in as well as up to a 300 point penalty depending on the rule infraction. The more severe the infraction, the more severe the points penalty!! Example if you have an engine that is illegal, except the maximum penalty.
16. If you go out to attempt to qualify and you forget to put a transponder on the car, your qualifying attempt is over for the night.
